About the speaker
Derrick Choi is the Head of Applied AI for Codex in Asia Pacific at OpenAI, based in Singapore. Previously, he led Codex teams across America and EMEA. He helps engineering organizations adopt AI agents across the software development lifecycle, enabling teams to ship faster and translate advances in AI into practical applications. He also focuses on making AI useful and accessible across roles and levels of technical experience.
Before joining OpenAI, Derrick was Head of Enterprise Operations at Scale AI, where he built a forward-deployed practice helping large organizations take AI applications into production. He previously cofounded Bild, a cloud platform for hardware teams, and served as its Chief Operating Officer. Earlier in his career, he worked in product on Amazon’s AWS AI team and as a software engineer at Apple, focused on iPhone hardware security and features including Face ID.
